Yeah... Nothing happens... We wait... And we wait... And we wait... Still nothing... Hmmz... This is mysterious... How can this be? No news? No nothing? Well that's where you are *wrong*!

The dates might all be delayed slightly as I am awaiting a new internet-connection in a few days, and won't be able to test new things much until then...
Else, anything? Rumors? Heard quite a bit of them in The Talking Parrot... Many available rooms, sign in today before the big rush starts...
And, gaaah, I wished that Google could get my page listed... It's a shame that we don't have more unique hits than 10-15 per day... And that The Talking Parrot only contains five users, me, my brother, my friend, and two more... It's a shame... Do something about it! :) |

FINALLY! I say FINALLY! I've been working 5-6 hours now straight just to get it finished...
This looks matches the Addicted Style :)
ALL and EVERY image to that style I've made myself (yeah, I am proud of it!;) I think it looks very good - but that's of course a very subjective opinion from me!
I've even made a logo for the tavern, with a real parrot!! :)
I've also been tweaking our new-to-come download-manager that Eystein has made with his "leet" php skills ;) It will be added soon - just have to make a finishing touch on it!
Anyways - go have a look yourself at the NEW forum look:)

... and so is my code... Every page should now be .php! It makes it a lot easier to update them :)
Due to this update, there might be a few broken links (I hope that I updated all, but who knows), if you find some, or notice other errors / bugs - please send me a mail to bugs@addictedtopirates.com so I can fix it :)
I also updated the plans file with a couple of new ideas!

Seems like the pirate-trend is exploding to new heights... Another pirates game is soon to be released, this one is called "Tortuga - Pirates of the New World". Some features include:
Open-ended World: Decide your own destiny! Pursue the mission goals or take the action into your own hands
Vast, gloriously detailed game world spanning 60 towns of the English, Spanish, French and Dutch nations
Missions ranging from hunting pirates to besieging towns
Sea Battles are fought using a real-time 3D engine - ships sway on the waves and damage is shown instantly

Here is some screenshots of the game, looks "ok" but nothing more in my eyes. I sure hope Sid Meier's Pirates! will look a lot better. And it most likely will... This game is made by Ascaron, which I've never heard of. Even so, the graphics isnt everything - maybe this game might be a real show after all!
The game has gotten surprisingly good reviews from Gamezone - 8.3/10 - and Gamerz Edge - 8.8/10 - Not bad for a start I must say!

I'm sorry to announce that the little "surprise" we had in store for you will be delayed until next saturday.
However, we will do our best to make this new feature as cool as possible.
Just like games out there... No reason to make an early release when you are not done yet ;) Let's hope Sid Meier's Pirates! will release when it's done, and not when Atari is done *cough*templeofelementalevil*cough* |

I had some problems with the old comments system, so I decided to find a new one. This is called iSay, and works like a dream :)
Everyone may posts comments, you do not have to register, even though you will have an option to do so if you wish. |

Not very noticeable for you - but I've arranged it so that all news posted get their own shtml page made, so it is possible to go in and look at each and every news-item...
Well, anyways - should be easier to find a specific news item now by clicking the headline-links for those not running Internet Explorer... I found IE to be the only browser out of the four I tested that worked with Anchor-tags... (IE, Opera, Mozilla and Safari tested)
Also, the links from the "Related News" are updated, but I'm afraid those news already posted won't be updated - they will work, but they won't be compatible or have their template page updated in the future.
And stay tuned :) - We have a little surprise for you this Saturday (hopefully, if everything goes as planned)!

Hello again! :)
I had to have a little update again, this time I added a little function called "Sticky News"!
A little explanation:
When we post new news-items every day, some are interesting, and some are less interesting. What I've tried to do, is to filter out the interesting ones (well, its subjective from the news-posters what is interesting or not) - so that they won't be "forgotten" from the headlines, just because they are bypassed by 5 other, not-so-very-interesting news...
So from this day, we have the "5 latest news" which just displays the 5 latest news, and then we have the "Sticky News" which displays the 5 latest news that has been marked as important by the news-poster.
As example, this post is NOT a sticky news :)

Well, the new features just keep on coming :) Today I added a news-rating-addon for the news-submitter, so now you may rate (only once!) the news!
Later on, I will add a function to search and sort the news after rating - so its easy to find the best news in the chamber!

It looks like Firaxis will make a fansite kit for Sid Meier's Pirates! available "after the first of the year", as Kelley Gilmore from Firaxis said it in a mail I got today.
No info about the fansite kit yet, but I'll guess from earlier experience that it will include some screenshots, sounds and other graphics related to the game.
