Once again we have come to the end of a year... With the Lord of the Rings movie-triology completed, there is nothing more to wait for... Oh wait, we have Sid Meier's Pirates!

In an article posted on the Firaxis home page, they mention some facts about Pirates!.
They say if all goes well, it will be released during the holiday season of 2004. Gilmore also says that "We can’t release a new title until it’s a solid product", which in my eyes is a hint that it might be delayed - a typical "when it's done" game.
In the same article it is said "For $50, a person gets 500 to 1,000 hours of play. There’s no such thing as beating the game.”
I'm not sure if it is Pirates! Briggs is talking about here, but we all know that Sid's games tend to last forever! I myself played Civ until Civ II came out, Civ II until Civ III came out, and I will be playing Civ III until Civ IV comes out :)

I'm on a spree today :)
This time a new download section has been added. Nothing special there yet, only the story I made and the themesong for it. I bet there will be quite a lot in a little while, when we start on the new year. Firaxis has promised a fan-site kit along with screenshots and other information about the game.
I also updated the community section with a new category system. Go have a look. Added lots of new sites / discussion boards for pirate-games.

I added a new poll today, regarding the release-date of Sid Meier's Pirates. The options are Q4 2004, First Half 2005, Last Half 2005, and When It's Done.
The old poll was stored under "Old Polls". With 10 votes, 50% of the users thought the forum rocked, 10% thought it looked good, 20% said it looked ok, 10% said it was bad, and 10% said it sucked! Well well - it can't be that bad allright ;)
In addition, I added forms for the "Feedback"-page and the "Positions"-page, making it very easy to apply to positions and sending in feedback.

The time honored series of Civilization first made by Sid Meier will probably come in a fourth edition somewhere near you.
Taken from the interview (Gamesdaily.com with Jeff Briggs):
"Firaxis currently has three products in development, with a fourth that will "probably" be starting up soon. Pirates! and Civilization 4 are the only products that Briggs would identify".
Maybe we will see a Colonization 2? Or perhaps Alpha Centauri 2?

Been a couple of weeks now since last update. I am working on some new stuff now so I hope it won't take too long before its up, but it could easily take another week.
It is now about a month left until we can expect Firaxis to reveal the first information and screenshots of the game. Even a fan-site kit with sounds and other interesting things will be released.
All we can do is wait, there is very little news at this time, so I am working with the site features instead :)
