The good chaps over at Cutlassisle (http://pirates.crydee.net/ - good news - good people and ah okay thats todays bit of flattering hehe)
has a follow up on the xbox story - Jeff Foley states it was not theyre intention to make an xbox version at this time, but now they are seriously considering it after all the buzz it created.

Today (April 19th) Pirates! is on the number 1 spot at gamespot most popular games. Also if you check out the link to buy Pirates! at ebay you find out Pirates! will cost $49.99 according to ebgames Also on the gamespot site Pirates! is slated for release 16 of november 2004. Thats 3 days after my birthday :)
Head over to www.gamespot.com yourself if you cant belive it - pirates! is the number one most anticipated game on april 19th. Pretty cool :) |

In this isolated dry place of no news comes an oasis from Captein Creed. In a Forum post he tells us that computerandvidoegames.com has an article by Stuart Bishop where the writer claims Pirates! will also be shipped to the xbox consoll. Good news this for all of you xbox owners out there!

Big Gaz alias Gary Wright the editor in chief over at Gameplanet has a feature on Pirates! looking back on the old Pirates! and telling us some stuff on the new.
Nothing particular new - one strange thing is the article is dated 17 May 2003 while it was added to the links on the firaxis webpage April the 2nd. This could ofcourse just be the webmasters over there just beeing as slow as us catching up on this news - or maybe the date on the article is wrong?
anyways here is a quote from the article:
"An entirely new game engine will deliver updated gameplay, stunning new features, spectacular 3D graphics and enhanced surround sound, so players can fully experience the intrigue, adventure and danger of life as a pirate on the Spanish Main."
Well i guess that with surround sound we will probably see some eax supported audio or more advanced. This ofcourse just beeing guessing from my side.
