| New preview! - (Pirates) |
| Thursday, 29.07.04 | Captain's Diary | Log Entry By KriFos |

I'm slacking a bit on the news these days... I found this over at Cutlass Isle, (which again found it over at Pirates Ahoy!
Anyways, a new preview is out, this time it is ActionTrip that has been so lucky to get their fingers on the keyboard infront of a computer that had the preview installed :)
Some new info, some old, some things we already knew - but its a good preview :)
I'm not gonna quote anything today, so you can just head over and read the preview at ActionTrip. |

| Designer Diary, Part Two - (Pirates) |
| Friday, 16.07.04 | Captain's Diary | Log Entry By KriFos |

In a very "dead" period of news, Jeff Briggs has made the second part of the designer diaries available at GameSpot.
Some (funny) facts about pirates:
1. A pirate's life was usually wretched, brutal, and horribly short.
2. Many pirates were little more than common murderers, and some were obviously insane.
3. Sea voyages were tedious, boring, uncomfortable, and dangerous, and you often lived for months on rancid meat and rotten biscuits.
4. In the 17th century almost nobody had a full set of teeth.
That's according to Jeff Briggs in the diary over at GameSpot.
In the rest of the diary he explains how they had to leave a lot of historical correctness (if there is such a word?) about how pirates and pirates-life really were, to make our pirate a hero, and our pirate-life a a fun, romantic one.
There is also a few new screenshots there, so if you still haven't clicked that link a few lines up that says "diary", you can now do it here. |

| Sid Meier's Lawn Mower - ((default)) |
| Saturday, 10.07.04 | Captain's Diary | Log Entry By KriFos |

GameSpy has in their article The Little Known Games of Summer presented Sid Meier's next game, "Sid Meier's Lawn Mower"...
They say "I mean, if Sid Meier could make running a frickin' golf course exciting, who else in the industry could make household chores such a heartstopper?"
Of course this is a huge joke, but in these days with little news about Sid Meier's Pirates!, it's something fun to reduce the waiting time with! :) And the point, as said in the article, Sid Meier COULD probably make this game, and the author would play it.. (Probably me too!) |
