Description

The native people of the Caribbean go to war in these heavy canoes. Equipped with a mast, the war canoe carries a single fore-and-aft rigged sail. The native canoe also is equipped with oars, allowing it to move directly into the wind. The war canoe is very fast, very maneuverable, and possesses a shallow draft that permits sailing in shoal waters.

The War Canoe is a smaller variant of the Pinnace. The Mail Runner is the largest Pinnace-class vessel.
